LD1318 "To Require the Department of Marine Resources and the Office of Program Evaluation and Government Accountability To Conduct an Independent Review and Audit of the Public Health Division" is making news all along the coast. MSA member Glen Melvin sent the following news links.

The Marine Resources Committee heard spirited testimony on the bill and has tabled it to look for ways to fund the audit.

Glenn also sent a letter from the Town of Freeport that has been sent to "Concerned Municipalities and Shellfish Committees" offering $5,000 toward the approximately $60,000 cost.
